EMERGENCY LIGHTING TESTING

PAT testing services by Flodman Electricall

Emergency lighting is in place to ensure that there is reliable, safe and illuminated egress from buildings/areas, in the times of emergency.
All emergency lighting needs to be capable of running on a battery system.
On this battery backup system, emergency lighting should automatically run for one to three hours.
We test the systems via cutting off the supply to the luminaires to mimic a power outage, the emergency lighting inspection and tests will then be conducted.
After the lights have been allowed to discharge for the allotted amount of time, they will be examined to make sure they are set to recharge once their supplies have been restored. To make sure they are all in good condition, and working properly, we will inspect each luminaire and sign. Each lighting unit will be noted if we observe any faults or failures, they will need to be changed or repaired as soon as possible. This includes observation such as but not limited to:

Insufficient brightness
Blackened bulbs or tubes
Any lights that fail to sustain luminance for the required amount of time.

Upon completion of the testing, we will provide a detailed report & complete a logbook, which will show you the health of your system highlighting any faults or remedial work we have been required to perform.
The logbook we complete will detail dates, details of the service/testing, remedial actions required and if there any alterations performed. (Log Books can be provided at extra cost).
